I've been knitting like a woman posessed these last couple of weeks, mostly for nothing. What you're looking at above, is the bulk of my progress) Three summer "sweaters" (a halter top, a tube, and a short-sleeved off the shoulder number) have all been ripped out because I was kntting them too big, and then, in the case of the halter top, too small...and then again somewhere in the middle that still didn't fit. (Note: Body Dysmorphia + Knitting = Frustration) So now I have YARN for three skimpy summer sweaters, that may not get knit up until next year. That kind of wated time annoys me in a big, big way....and I'm learning that I'm more of a "product" knitter than a "process" knitter. I did manage to finish a hat and a pair of socks for Aidan, and he loves them.
I've also been putting together part of my costume for the Beltaine Ritual I'll be participating in. Part of it is a choreographed bellydance piece for the five goddesses. I'll be dancing for the western quarter, invoking the energies of water...I needed something appropriate:

I've taken every possible shortcut, without sacrificing durability....nearing completion, which is good, because I have a little over a week left to get it together.
Last week was spring break for me, and we chose to use the downtime for a juice fast...which went well, and has left me feeling better prepared to remain in control of my eating habits (I have a tendency to load up on cheese and starch in the winter, and that just wasn't feeling very good....)so back to the kitchen, with a renewed emphasis on fresh veggies, meat alternatives and "clean" food.... spring is my favorite time to cook that way....and then take it out to the patio with to enjoy.
So now I'm off to the chiropractor, and spending the rest of the afternoon looking for alternative uses for the lovely yarn that I would love to be able to wear before it gets cold again.....

A juice fast seems too hard for me. I couldn't do without my bread! Even my kids insist on a roll every night with dinner. I guess I need to work on that.

Hey, a hat and socks are worthy! :)
I hope we'll get to see the Beltaine garb finished! Merry! Merry!
It looks like that costume is going to be beautiful! Yummy yarn. :)
